If you have never fallen flat on your face it is hard to explain the feeling.  One minute you are standing up and the next you are trying to figure out what happened and what damage did you do in the fall.
And after you have inventoried your damage, you may find yourself saying thank you God, it could have been much worse.

Some may find that a strange response but after listening to this song, I took a minute and inventoried the various scars of which I have many.  Some scars are still fresh in my mind others have healed in flesh and soul.

The wounds may heal but the scar will bear witness to the event. So, I look at the scars and cry Hallelujah.  They remind me he was with me then and now.

What do you say when someone pours out their heart to you? This week has brought a number of people with children, brothers and other family members fighting cancer.  A father poured out his heart as he talked about his 20 year old son, who is on his third operation and how he as a Dad suddenly found himself praying to someday have grandchildren.

What do you say?  There were several more reports on cancer and so I spent some time listening and heard this song.

I don’t believe in God, but vampires, werewolves, aliens and anything else Hollywood puts on the screen is possible, and the creation theory is wrong.

Have you met anyone who thinks like that? They can deny the creation of God and believe in the craziest things with a straight face.

How well do you see in the dark? I have always been able to see in the dark, it was always easy to make my way across a room or even to take a walk in the woods at night.

I was surprised to find others could not do that, and slowly I realized God had always walked with me when the light had failed.

There is always a way to see in the dark, Psalm 119: 105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”

What are the most important days in your memory?  Stop and think of the three best memories you have?  What were they, just write them down, what happened? Who was there?

Now, close your eyes, where was God in that moment? God is always with us, but can you see him?

Can you feel his presence?

This song talks about somewhere in Glory you will find me, but I am going to start working on being sure if you are looking for God, I am going to be helping to point the way here and now. Just because some have declared God Politically incorrect, does not mean I have to support their view.  My God is politically correct and I want to be sure you know it.

Do you ever watch people? Sometimes I think God just likes to watch us, because we do funny things. Ask yourself what has God asked you to do? Did you accomplish it? Or did you just add to your list of excuses why you can’t do it?

If God tells you to move then do it.  ( Be sure it’s God and not your own ego, using God as an excuse)

If God is waiting for you to move forward, then perhaps it is time to do so. Yes, you may find your path is different than others, but if it is really Gods path, stick to it.

Mixing the old with the new -  This hymn dates back to 1758, written by Robert Robinson. So what prompts a musical group of today to record a song this old?  Maybe there is more to this song than we know, look at the amazon link, I could not believe how many have recorded this song. Why?
Maybe, it is just praising God is timeless. Maybe the truth has no time stamp. I know all of you are solid and never changing believers, but for those like me that no we must stay diligent to keep from wandering, ponder one of the last lines of this song.

I don’t have time! How many times have you heard or said I don’t have time to – ( you fill in the blank).

I am sure you have heard the old story of the two little kids who were going to school and they heard the school bell ring. Knowing they were now late, the one stopped and said we should stop and pray. The other said I am going to run and pray.

If God is a part of your life then it is easy to worship and pray as you go. (Even the seven dwarves figured out they could whistle while they work.)

Maybe you should try inviting God to go with you all week.

Problems are likes holes in your daily path.  You get up and get going and then stumble in some problem hole, the car breaks, you need to call a company’s service or support line and find the dumbest person on earth is going to help you. Our days are full of problem holes, now you can choose to stay in that hole, make it deeper by complaining, or fighting or whatever keeps you in that hole or you craw out of the hole and move on.

Yes, there will be another problem hole in your path, count on it.  But how do you handle the problem so you can move on.

While you are in between the challenges of the day, keep praising his name, you may find it helps you step right over many problems.

Need help, call God before you wade in to the problem hole, prayer helps believe me I spend most of my days listening to people and helping them out of their problem hole.

Revelation or Easter Bunny; one is commercial sales and one is about eternal grace.  Which one gets the greatest attention in your life?

It is interesting watching how every Holiday, every Holy day has been corrupted by someone selling you something to “Celebrate” a day which required no sales.

It is no wonder why Jesus turned over the tables of the money changers, it must have made an impression on the disciples as it shows up, in  John 2: 13 – 22, Matthew 21: 12 – 13, Mark 11: 15 – 17, Luke 19: 45 – 46.

So, what would you do to help get the focus on what’s important?

This week, I keep hearing you have a choice for or against.  I watch as lines are drawn trying to force a fight.  Will we fight about race, the poor, women’s rights, right or left, Conservative or Progressive or is there a more important choice that is being ignored?

Pull aside this week, turn on your discernment and look and listen to what is being said around you.

Imagine just you and God step off the busy street, grab a cup of coffee and sit down out of the way and observe what is going on around you.  Ask God what does he want before you get back on the street.

Ever wish God would just show up and put an end to the bickering and challenges to his existence? I find myself praying for God to show himself, I have become tired of those that want to bash him and deny him.

I believe in the motto “In God we Trust”  I certainly can’t believe in those denying him and our rights to believe in him.

Maybe we need to realize Our God is greater, and we need to stand up for him. Sure I can ask God to come show himself, but if I go hide in the corner and don’t show myself, what does that say?

Our God is greater let them know it, when they deny him, you proclaim him. If you can’t stand up for him, who will?

What would happen if God showed up? Would it be fun to watch the news coverage? Imagine what happens if this world and its leaders suddenly are face to face with God.

How would you act? I find myself wondering how long the joy would last as we watched the plight of those that have denied him.
